QHotels Telford Hotel & Golf Resort has this month welcomed David Thorp as its new golf Teaching Professional.
Having recently been awarded the prestigious qualification of Advanced Professional by the Professional Golfer’s Association (PGA), which requires extensive experience of both playing and teaching at the top level, David will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise to the Shropshire hotel’s impressive golf course.
David joins Telford Hotel & Golf Resort from Horsehay Village Golf Centre in Telford, where he spent eight years launching a teaching academy. A local professional, David has also previously worked at Telford Hotel & Golf Resort where he still holds the professional course record with a round of just 62.
David comments: “I am excited to be taking up the position of Teaching Professional at Telford Hotel & Golf Resort, a club where I have always enjoyed success in the past. With top-class facilities and a great course it is the perfect place for me to introduce beginners to the game and help more advanced players to further improve their golf.”
