The Place at Oakengates Theatre

Having been transformed into a state of the art performance and community space, whatever your need, Oakengates Theatre can offer what’s right for you.

The auditorium offers a flexible space for hosting a wide range of exhibitions, conferences, events and performances. It is fully equipped with the latest technology including PA, lighting rig, flat floor matrix and tiered seating system. The space has sprung beech flooring, a raised stage with disabled access, ample wing space and use of four dressing rooms, shower, WC and green room. The stage is also equipped with a 1.5 ton hydraulic lift with access from the stage door at the rear of the building.

The Gallery Bar, which hosts touring exhibitions and work by local and regional artists, is an exciting new space which can adapt to a wide variety of events. The Community Room is designed for hosting the perfect boardroom meeting or small theatre style event. This light and airy space offers relaxed, contemporary surroundings.

The Interview Room is situated in the entrance foyer at The Place, this space is ideally suited for small meetings and offers an abundance of natural light, telephone point and round table which seats up to 6 people.

A fully equipped ICT learning suite with 14 PCs is also available to hire for training.
